The 2014 Emmy nominations will be revealed July 10 and in the days leading up to that big announcement we'll be sharing our dream picks for nods in the big categories. You can find our picks for the reality categories here, Variety Series here, Lead Actor/Actress in a Miniseries or Movie here, Outstanding Movie and Outstanding Miniseries here, Outstanding Guest Actor and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama here. and Outstanding Guest Actor and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy here. Today's focus: Outstanding Supporting Actress and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy.

The supporting actor/actress comedy category has honored many performers behind TV's most beloved characters over the past years. Sean Hayes (Jack on "Will & Grace"), Woody Harrelson (Woody on "Cheers"), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine on "Seinfeld") have all been winners here.

This one's usually a toughie considering the competition among the players hailing from the best, albeit most crowded, shows on TV. For instance, pretty much everyone on "Modern Family" and "Saturday Night Live" is in the running on this ballot.

So, which supporting stars deserved some Emmy love in this comedy acting race? Here are our dream 2014 Emmy nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series:

"Seinfeld" celebrates the 25th anniversary of its series premiere on July 5th, so we felt it was the perfect time to look back at the show about nothing that changed everything. We still quote this beloved series on a daily basis and are indebted to it for bringing us phrases like "low talker," "anti-dentite," and "soup nazi."

One thing's for sure about "Seinfeld" -- the briefly-seen bit characters were some of the most memorable parts of the series. And boy were there a lot of them. Jerry had over 50 girlfriends throughout the show's run alone.

Even though we always enjoyed watching the fab four (Elaine, Jerry, Kramer, and George) in action, the minor players couldn't help but stand out because top talent was consistently cast. Need proof? There are dozens of guest stars who went on to become stars in their own right.

See for yourself! Take a look at 25 guest stars who became famous after appearing on "Seinfeld":

So many contenders, so little space! As usual, the supporting race for the dramatic acting categories boasts a ballot chock full of amazing performances. The actors and actresses of shows like "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad," and "Game of Thrones" alone could practically fill all the slots here.

Last year, "Boardwalk Empire""s Bobby Cannavale beat out two-time winner Aaron Paul. Anna Gunn ("Breaking Bad") was also a winner, and we just couldn't ignore her this time around.

You Don't Know 'Seinfeld': 25 Facts About the Legendary Sitcom

The cast of the Emmy-winning
This July 5th marks the 25th anniversary of the "Seinfeld" series premiere. The sitcom is considered one of the best shows of all time and its contribution to comedy, pop culture, and the TV landscape as a whole since its inaugural episode is pretty much unparalleled over the past few decades.

We all remember phrases like "yada, yada, yada," might recall Jerry was a Superman fan, and know that the show was filmed in LA and not New York City, where it took place. But there are some little-known tidbits even the biggest fans of the series might not be aware of.

Here are 25 facts you should know about "Seinfeld":

1. "Seinfeld" wasn't part of NBC's 1989 fall lineup. The show got a summer premiere date -- July 5, 1989.

2. It was originally titled "The Seinfeld Chronicles," but got "the old switcheroo" because ABC was already planning a series called "The Marshall Chronicles."

3. Elaine (Julie Louis-Dreyfus) did not appear in the pilot.

4. Festivus, the holiday Frank Costanza observes instead of Christmas, is totally a real thing. Dan O'Keefe, a writer on the show, celebrated as a kid as early as 1966.

5. Naturally, Festivus became popular after the episode "The Strike" brought it to the world's attention in 1997. Go out and buy your festivus poles now, because you totally still can!

6. Seinfeld was the first show to command more than one million dollars per minute for advertising.

7. Frank Sinatra died on the same day of the show's finale, which was May 14th, 1999.

8. The character Newman was originally supposed to be a suicidal African-American man.

9. Megan Mullally and Rosie O'Donnell read for the part of Elaine.

10. Steve Buscemi, Nathan Lane and Danny DeVito were all considered for George.

11. Co-creator Larry David instituted a "no hugging, no learning" policy for the show, meaning no characters could gain moral lessons from their actions.

12. In "The Frogger" (an episode where George tries to get an old Frogger machine from a pizza place), the arcade game displays the initials of top scorers. Frogger machines keep high scores, but they do not display initials.

13. Jerry Seinfeld was offered a 10th season, but turned it down because he wanted to follow in the footsteps of The Beatles -- the band broke up after 9 years.

14. Seinfeld admitted on a Reddit AMA that his two favorite episodes were "The Rye" and "The Pothole." He said of "The Rye": "We got to shoot that at Paramount Studios in LA which was the first time that we thought, 'Wow, this is almost like a real TV show.' We hadn't felt like a real TV show, the early years of the TV show were not successful."

15. Jerry says "Hello, Newman" 15 times throughout the series. His mom (Liz Sheridan) says it once.

16. In the final moments of the season finale, Jerry mentions the placement of George's shirt buttons -- a nod to the conversation the pair had in the series premiere. This prompts George to ask, "haven't we had this conversation before?"

17. The exterior shot for Jerry's apartment was actually filmed in Los Angeles.

18. Jason Alexander (George) doesn't wear glasses.

19. Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander never won Emmy acting awards, despite being nominated numerous times.

20. In the show's first episode, Kramer is referred to as Kessler.

21. George mentions he has a brother, although we never meet him.

22. The TV Land network shut off during the "Seinfeld" series finale to honor the series. They instead aired a still of a closed door with hand-written notes that read, "We're TV Fans so... we're watching the last episode of Seinfeld. Will return at 10pm et, 7pm pt."

23. A spinoff for Kramer's lawyer Jackie Chiles (Phil Morris) was in development, but it never got off the ground!

24. Co-creator Larry David was the voice behind Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

25. Suzanne Vega's song "Tom's Diner" is about the real life "Tom's Restaurant" -- an Upper West Side establishment that served as the exterior for Monk's Cafe, the diner the characters frequented.

We're on to the major categories, folks. It's time to explore the best performers behind the main characters in our favorite TV comedies.

Here's we start to get into repeat offender territory -- lead actor and actress categories aren't always quite as varied as the supporting ones. Jim Parsons (last year's winner for "The Big Bang Theory") has won three times. Tony Shalhoub ("Monk") earned three awards for his performance and Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier") received four. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was the winner two years in a row for "Veep," but hey, that doesn't mean she was left of our list!

Olivia Munn Facts
Olivia Munn is the full package: she's funny, beautiful, talented, and down-to-earth.

Since getting her break on G4 TV in 2006, Munn has continually showcased her versatility and scored big roles on TV and the big screen. Recently, the actress proved she could hold her own against heavy-hitters like Jeff Daniels in Aaron Sorkin's "The Newsroom" and Channing Tatum in the surprise hit "Magic Mike". This summer, Munn stars opposite Eric Bana and Edgar Ramirez in the supernatural thriller "Deliver Us From Evil".

From a list of her favorite things to her international upbringing, here are 29 things you probably don't know about Olivia Munn.

1. Olivia Munn was born Lisa Olivia Munn on July 3, 1980 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kim Schmid and Winston Munn.

2. Although her mother is of Chinese descent, she was born and raised in Vietnam. Schmid fled to Oklahoma after the Vietnam War came to a close in 1975.

3. Munn was predominately raised in Tokyo, Japan, where her stepfather was stationed as a member of the United States Air Force. She's said the coolest thing about Japan is the people.

4. As a result, the actress can speak fluent Japanese.

5. While in Japan, she also modeled and appeared in local theater productions.

6. Throughout her career, she's modeled for Nike, Pepsi, and Neutrogena.

7. After her mother divorced her stepfather, Munn moved back to America and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in journalism and minored in dramatic arts.

8. One of her first jobs out of college was working as a sideline reporter for college football and women's basketball, though Munn admits she felt uncomfortable with the job because she "was trying to be something [she] wasn't."

9. Soon after, she moved out to Los Angeles to pursue acting and quickly landed a part in the Zebrahead music video "Hello Tomorrow" (2004). She played the love interest of lead singer Justin Mauriello.

10. The actress also professionally went by her birth name, Lisa Munn, until 2006.

11. That year, Munn landed a job on the G4 network, where she co-hosted "Attack of the Show!" -- as Olivia Munn -- with Kevin Pereira. The work for G4 showcased Munn's humor and down-to-earth attitude, and earned her instant attention.

12. It wasn't long before the actress landed parts on both TV and the big screen. Her biggest roles to date are Sloan Sabbith in "The Newsroom" and opposite Channing Tatum in "Magic Mike".

13. In February 2007, she was Playboy magazine's "Babe of the Month," though it was a non-nude pictorial.

14. In 2010, Munn released her book "Suck it, Wonder Woman: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek."

15. She once dislocated her shoulder when her indoor swing -- in her Prague apartment -- disconnected from the ceiling and crashed to the floor.

16. Munn ranked No. 2 on Maxim's Hot 100 Women list in both 2011 and 2012. We can't believe she couldn't crack the number 1 spot!

17. However, she was the No. 1 girl for Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman ("Robocop") from 2012 to 2014, before the couple called it quits.

18. Today, Munn is in a high-profile relationship with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

19. Prior to her role in "Deliver Us from Evil," the actress did not believe in the supernatural, however, she's now "a full believer" after watching actual NYPD footage of real-life exorcisms.

Cameron Diaz Facts: 23 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About the Actress

Cameron Diaz Facts
Cameron Diaz has been hard to miss ever since her break-out role, twenty years ago, in "The Mask."

Since then, Diaz has starred in both dramatic and comedic hits, such as "Gangs of New York" (2002) and "There's Something About Mary" (1998), and cemented herself as one of Hollywood's top leading ladies. Her versatility has helped her remain on the A-list so many years later, and, this summer, you can find her in "The Other Woman" and "Sex Tape."

From her early work for Coca-Cola to her weird connection to Snoop Dogg, here are 23 things you probably don't know about Cameron Diaz.

1. Diaz was born in San Diego, California to Billie Joann, an import-export agent, and Emilio Luis Diaz, a field gauger for an oil company.

2. She has Anglo-German and Cherokee ancestry on her mother's side, while she has Cuban ancestry on her father's side.

3. Diaz is proud of her Latin roots and claims she brings that part of her to every role she plays. She admits, however, that her blonde hair and blue eyes tend to make people question her Hispanic heritage.

4. Before turning to acting, Diaz was a model for Elite Model Management and appeared in commercials for Nivea, L.A. Gear, and Coca-Cola.

5. When she was 17 years old, Diaz also appeared on the cover of Seventeen magazine (July, 1990).

6. To model around the globe under contract for companies such as Calvin Klein and Levi's, Diaz left home at 16. Over the next five years, her international tour included Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco, and Paris before settling back in California.

7. After returning to California, Diaz's agency secured her an audition for "The Mask" (1994) -- despite her having no acting experience. After an amazing 12 call backs, she eventually landed the part.

8. Co-starring opposite Jim Carrey in comedy hit "The Mask" successfully launched Diaz's acting career, and she hasn't looked back.

9. In 2003, she became the second actress -- after Julia Roberts -- to join the coveted $20 Million Club for her part in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."

10. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diaz was the highest-paid actress over 40 years old (2013).

11. After huge comedy hits such as "The Mask" and "There's Something About Mary," Diaz also became an international sex symbol.

12. As a result, Diaz has been on many "Hot" or "Sexy" lists throughout the years, even being ranked as high as No. 13 on Empire magazine's list of "100 Sexiest Stars" in film history.

13. Interestingly enough, she told Maxim magazine in 2011 that her favorite word is "sex."

14. Prior to her success, the actress went to Long Beach Poly High School, where she performed as a member of the "Polyettes" dance team during halftime at football games.

15. Snoop Dogg also went to that high school the same time Diaz was there. The rapper has said, "She ran with my homegirls, all my little cheerleading homegirls" and that "she was fly and she was hip."

16. She also has ties to another popular musician. Diaz dated singer and actor Justin Timberlake for nearly four years, but the couple called it quits in 2007.

17. They later starred in 2011's "Bad Teacher" together, but Diaz said it "really wasn't a big deal" because they "always had a good laugh together."

18. Her high-profile relationships don't end there, though. She has dated actor Matt Dillon, actor and musician Jared Leto, and baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

19. She even fed Alex Rodriguez popcorn at Super Bowl XLV, a moment seen live by tens of millions of people.

20. On why she never tied the knot, she told Esquire magazine that "it just wasn't the thing I was drawn to."

21. She was the maid of honor, however, at best friend Drew Barrymore's wedding to husband Will Kopelman.

22. The independent woman isn't afraid to get dirty, either. She broke her nose in a surfing accident in Hawaii in 2003 and has reportedly suffered four broken noses.

23. She believes that her role in "Gangs of New York" (2002) is the pinnacle of her career.

Johnny Depp Facts: 33 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About the A-List Star

Johnny Depp Facts
Believe it or not, Johnny Depp has been lighting up the silver screen for three decades.

Since breaking out on the hit show "21 Jump Street," Depp has become well known for his eccentric roles, most notably as the suave pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. While the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise made him a bankable star, Depp owes much of his career to renowned director Tim Burton for collaborations such as "Edward Scissorhands" (1990) and "Sleepy Hollow" (1999) -- just to name two.

But there's still much to know about the international star. From his early ambitions as a musician to his surprising fear, here are 33 things you probably don't know about Johnny Depp.

1. Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1963 to Betty Sue Palmer, a waitress, and John Christopher Depp, a civil engineer.

2. He and his family moved frequently during his childhood, living in more than 20 different places before settling in Miramar, Florida.

3. Prior to becoming an actor, Depp dreamed of becoming a rock star. He was trying to make it as a musician in Los Angeles when he transitioned to acting.

4. When he was 12, his mother gave him a guitar. After playing in several garage bands, the future actor dropped out of high school to pursue music.

5. He reportedly went back to school two weeks later, but the principal encouraged him to follow his dreams and be a musician. After enjoying modest local success, Depp and his band The Kids moved to Los Angeles to get a record contract.

6. The Kids once opened for legendary punk rocker Iggy Pop, but they struggled to have greater success.

7. Depp credits Nicolas Cage with helping him get his first acting job after Cage hooked him up with his first agent. Depp has seemingly never forgotten.

8. When Cage fell into financial trouble in 2007, Depp reportedly offered to pay off his debt as a way to say thank you for kickstarting his career.

9. He was even listed in the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records as the highest paid actor, netting a total of $75 million in 2011.

10. Depp's most financially successful films have been the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise and "Alice in Wonderland," which have grossed $3 billion and $1 billion, respectively.

11. Despite several critically acclaimed roles, the actor has never won an Oscar.

12. He has been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar three times, for "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007), "Finding Neverland" (2004), and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003).

13. He won a Golden Globe in 2008 for his role in "Sweeney Todd."

14. His first acting role was in Wes Craven's 1984 classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

15. He has collaborated with director Tim Burton on eight films, beginning with "Edward Scissorhands" (1990) and most recently starring in "Dark Shadows" (2012).

16. He has twice been named the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine in 2003 and 2009.

17. Depp is currently engaged to actress Amber Heard after proposing on Christmas Eve 2013. The couple met on the set of "The Rum Diary" (2012).

18. Despite five (known) engagements, Depp has only been married one time. He was wed to Lori Anne Allison in 1983 and later divorced in 1985.

19. After his marriage, Depp was engaged to actresses Jennifer Grey ("Dirty Dancing") and Sherilyn Fenn ("Twin Peaks") in the late 1980s.

20. In 1990, the actor also became engaged to his "Edward Scissorhands" co-star Winona Ryder.

21. He even got a tattoo -- "Winona Forever" -- to commemorate their love. Following their breakup, Depp altered the ink to read "Wino Forever."

22. With over a dozen tattoos, Depp has said his "body is a journal in a way. It's like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something..."

23. After calling it off with Ryder, Depp began dating British supermodel Kate Moss, who has a thing for musicians and actors.

24. During this time, the actor infamously trashed the Mark Hotel in New York City. He even blamed an armadillo for the damage!

25. Following his relationship with Moss, he settled down with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis from 1998 to 2012. Although they never married, the couple have two children together, Lily-Rose Melody and John "Jack" Christopher.

26. Don't ask him to dance! He fears dancing more than anything in the world and has never danced in real life. He's only danced as a character in a movie with a choreographed routine.

27. Initially just a fan, Depp became a long-time friend of journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson. He starred in two film adaptations of Thompson's novels, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (1998) and "The Rum Diary" (2011).

28. He even paid for most of Thompson's memorial event, including the shooting of the writer's ashes by cannon -- as were his wishes.

29. Depp travels with his Captain Jack Sparrow costume from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise in order to surprise kids at hospitals. He says he'll "just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies... It basically turns into a two, three-hour improvisation and it's really fun."

30. His quirky and crowd-pleasing performance as the suave pirate Captain Jack Sparrow was modeled after Keith Richards, the guitarist for The Rolling Stones.

31. Richards and Depp are friends and spent time together on the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" (2007), which Rolling Stone magazine covered in a 2007 issue.

32. Depp's rock star connections don't stop there. He's twice recorded with Oasis, notably playing lead slide guitar on the British band's 1997 track "Fade In-Out."

33. Depp is set to star as the infamous Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger in the biopic "Black Mass." Directed by Scott Cooper ("Out of the Furnace"), the film begins production this summer.

10 Totally Weird Series Finales We Can't Forget (VIDEO)

July 20th, 2014 is the 20th anniversary of a very important bizarre moment in television history. Yup -- two decades ago we said goodbye to ABC "TGIF" classic, "Dinosaurs."

You may recall that the prehistoric puppet show ended on a total "huh?" note. Translation: the finale was absolutely bonkers.

In the episode called "Changing Nature," the Sinclear family of Pangea prepares for the annual migration of the Bunch Beetles, a species of bugs that eat cider poppies. But when the Beetles don't arrive, an overgrowth of cider poppies begins, and it is discovered that WESAYSO (the powerful corporation where Earl works) has created a wax fruit factory where the beetles were meant to breed. Still with me? Earl, the Sinclear family patriarch, is tasked with controlling the growth, but he sprays defoliant and ultimately destroys all plant life on the planet in the process. In an attempt to create rain for the plants' survival, the volcanoes erupt into smoke clouds (not rain clouds), which sets off a cooling front. Cooling front = ice age, which means these dinos are about to go extinct. So, basically, Earl killed everyone. The end.

It's quite the crazy sendoff for an almost equally crazy show. Want to know about more oddball series endings? Here are 10 (more) totally weird series finales we should never forget:

Andi Dorfman is about to make one of the biggest decisions of her life. Yes -- July 28 is the finale of "The Bachelorette" Season 10 and the Atlanta attorney will finally choose between her final two suitors, Josh Murray and Nick Viall.

As we prepare for this momentous moment, we may as well take a trip down memory lane and look at the track record of former Bachelorettes and their chosen mates. As it turns out, not all the relationships were doomed, but the odds aren't exactly in these reality TV relationships' favor.

Here's hoping for a lifetime of love and happiness for Andi and her (maybe) husband-to-be. And as we celebrate her new chapter, let's check in with past "Bachelorette" couples and see how they're doing.

'The Bachelorette': Season 10 Highs and Lows (VIDEO)

That's all, folks! Andi Dorfman made her decision last night on the dramatic finale of "The Bachelorette" Season 10 and (for now) all feels right in the world of reality TV romance.

(SPOILERS AHEAD!)

The Atlanta attorney picked Josh Murray to be her main squeeze forever and ever in a heartfelt mutual declaration of love. Unfortunately, poor salty Nick was sent packing and his exit wasn't exactly pretty. In fact, this season hasn't been all roses and butterfly kisses -- there were some tough moments to watch throughout this ... (we're gonna just say it) ... journey. And it's been an especially emotional season, as we all saw Andi, the crew, and the men deal with the tragic death of contestant Eric Hill.

It's been quite the ride, and we can count plenty of romantic highs and awkward lows along the way. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

HIGH
The guys sing with Boyz II Men. We really got to know these suitors in this odd display of musical (in)ability and all out silliness. These grown men had to croon "I'll Make Love to You" in front of a crowd and they committed. It was one of the more memorable group dates we've laid our weary "Bachelor nation" eyes on.

LOW
The men take lie detector tests. Why is this necessary? This does not happen in real relationship life. Not that "The Bachelorette" chronicles a typical dating situation per se, but having them take lie detector tests didn't need to happen here. Nope.

HIGH
Brian nails the half court shot! Coach Brian didn't make it to the finals, but we thought he was oddly endearing even if the chemistry between him and Andi wasn't there. When the guys all had to compete in a game of basketball he totally dominated and then made a half court shot in front of Andi later on. Sweet moves!

LOW
Brian doesn't nail a cooking date. But then Brian got totally closed off when he and Andi cooked together on their French one-on-one. It was really uncomfortable and we felt for everyone involved.

HIGH
Cody. Oh, lovable, goofy, wide-eyed Cody. You made it weirdly far in this race without seemingly talking to Andi once. And you came off sweet and thoughtful on your "Letters to Juliet" Verona outing with Andi. We're sorry you got the boot mid-date.

LOW
Everybody hates Nick. Sure, Nick was the runner-up, but he didn't really win over the other guys even if he kinda won over Andi. A lot of the "downtime" footage here revolved around their disdain for his cockiness.

HIGH? / LOW?
There was an odd date where Andi and pantsapreneur JJ had to dress up like the elderly and see what it would be like to grow old together. It was so ridiculous that we didn't know whether to laugh or cover our eyes.

LOW
Andrew. He wasn't really contestant-of-the-year material. And then there was that whole alleged racist remark thing that played out at "The Men Tell All."

HIGH
Hello, Chris! I think it's safe to say that most people were pretty taken with farmer Chris. He was a total sweetheart and his hometown date was one of the best by far. HIs family was adorable and he proved himself to be romantic and sensitive -- even hiring a plane to fly by and tell Andi he loved her. Aw.

LOW
Goodbye, Chris. Unfortunately Chris didn't become Andi's hubby-to-be and we had to watch his tearful sendoff. We think he'll be OK though.

LOW
Andi knocks on Nick's door. Well, all good OK things come to an end. Andi did the right thing by telling Nick she wasn't feeling it before he went ahead and proposed, but it didn't make it any less painful to watch. And it was even more painful when he tried to talk to her at "The Men Tell All." And then it got worse -- he confronted her at the inevitable "After the Final Rose" in a cringeworthy exchange. It's going to be alright, Nick!

HIGH
Josh proposes to Andi. We're just gonna say it: we're rooting for these crazy kids. And as ridiculous as this whole process can seem, we were pleased with the way Josh put his heart out there for Andi (and the world) to see. Good luck, you two!

James Franco's Most Controversial Moments (GRAPHIC VIDEO)

Warning: The video below contains scenes of graphic violence

"Making a Scene" is an AOL On Originals series featuring actor, director and film-buff James Franco. Each week, Franco will take his passion for movies and mash up two of cinema's most iconic flicks in only a way he can imagine.

If you're a fan of James Franco, you know he's a lot more than just an actor on the silver screen. He's a director, he's starred on Broadway, guest-starred in a soap opera, was nominated for an Oscar, hosted the Oscars (more on that later), dabbled in writing, poetry and even has a stint as a university professor.

But if you're less familiar with his work, you may know Franco from his much-publicized antics. How can we forget the time he tried to pick up a 17-year-old fan, or when posted a semi-naked selfie to Instagram? But much like Shakespeare's Hamlet, there seems to be a craft behind his madness - how else would you be able to pull movie mashups like "Beetlejuice" and "Batman" or remix the silent films of the 1920s with a classic like "Taxi Driver"?

This week, James take an unlikely "What if" scenario: What happens when Quentin Tarantino's ultra-violent "Reservoir Dogs" and Emile Ardolino's romantic "Dirty Dancing" hit the blood-soaked dance floor together?

Franco's public persona is one that doesn't hold back, likes to make a strong first impression and doesn't shy away from controversy. Watch the video above and you'll see what we're talking about. And for Franco's most absurd moments, check out the list below.

Fanning The Flames Of War With North Korea

Franco's latest flick, "The Interview" isn't set for release until October, but already the film starring himself and Seth Rogan as undercover assassins tasked with killing Kim Jong Un has created a lot of buzz... in North Korea.

Back in June, the country's foreign ministry released a statement describing the film as a "<a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/25/north-korea-seth-rogen-james-franco_n_5528386.html" target="_blank">wanton act of terror and act of war, and is absolutely intolerable</a>".

Needless to say, Franco probably won't be invited to shoot some hoops with the country's "supreme leader" any time soon.

That Time He Blasted "Spring Breakers 2" On Social Media

A24 Films
Back in May, Franco made a scene on social media after finding out a sequel to "Spring Breakers" was a go. Franco, who starred in the first film as the character of Alien, blasted producers for green-lighting the film. He went on to call the future flick a "terrible film" on his Instagram. "I want everyone to know that whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship. It will be a terrible film, with a horrible reason d'être: to make money off someone else's creativity."

His Semi-Naked Selfie

If you follow James Franco on Instagram, you'll know it's a treasure trove for oddities, but none can top his semi-naked selfie. The photo was eventually taken down and the actor never really addressed its (brief) existence.

That Time He Made A Sex Tape

He can direct feature-length films, but don't ask James Franco to direct any pornos. Here's what he had to say during an interview with Conan O'Brien.

"When I was young, it's not like I went down to Van Nuys and tried to break into the porn industry, I got a video camera and my girlfriend and I decided to film ourselves," he laughed. "And watched it back and said yeah, let's never watch that again."

The "Lindsay Lohan" Episode

Earlier this summer, Lindsay Lohan's infamous list of men she allegedly slept with was leaked to the media. According to US Magazine, some the men on the list included Justin Timberlake, Orlando Bloom and James Franco.

Franco denied ever sleeping with the troubled star, but did go on to write a short story about Lohan, though he claims his character was a fictional character sharing the same name. In Franco's story he claimed "Lindsay" made advances on him and that the two spent the night together but never had sex. Lohan was reportedly not pleased.

That Time His Drama Prof. Launched A Lawsuit Against Him He's taught at the University of Southern California as well as UCLA, NYU and Columbia but before his days as a prof, James Franco was a university student, albeit not a very good one academically. Back in 2012, Jose Angel Santana launched a lawsuit against Franco after he says he was sacked for handing Franco a D due to his shoddy attendance. Franco went on to call Santana a "bad teacher". The two eventually reached a settlement in September of 2013.

His Oscars Gig. 'Nuff Said.

AFP

The 2011 Oscars went down in history for its one major upset: the presenters, James Franco and Anne Hathaway. The pair's unorthodox and often awkward performance drew equal parts criticism and controversy. At one point, Franco dressed up in drag to channel as Marilyn Monroe. Franco later said he 'felt trapped' as host.

Presenters Anne Hathaway and James Franco, in drag, appear on stage during the 83rd annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood on February 27, 2011.

That Time With The 17-Year-Old Girl

Here's a lesson for all adults on social media: don't try to pick up teenagers. Back in April, photos showing Franco's flirtatious advances with a 17-year-old fan leaked online. The exchange goes something along the lines of this: the two started chatting on Instagram, Franco asked for the girl number, then asked if she was single and where she was staying in New York. He then asked if he should rent a room of his own there. The conversation exploded on the Internet and Franco later went on an interview with " Live With Kelly and Michael" to clear the air, saying the experience left him "embarrassed", adding that he "used bad judgment".

'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies': A Survival Guide for Non-Fans

Fans have been anticipating the final chapter in Peter Jackson's epic "Hobbit" trilogy ever since it was first announced that the acclaimed "Lord of the Rings" filmmaker would be splitting J.R.R. Tolkien's classic novel into three parts. And with "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" finally hitting theatres this Wednesday, anticipation has reached a fever pitch.

But what if you're not quite as big a Tolkien fan? Clocking in at a combined 474 minutes (or 6.15 times as long as the 1977 animated version), sitting through the entire "Hobbit" trilogy can be as demanding a task as reclaiming the Lonely Mountain. And while we're assuming the hardcore "Hobbit" fans out there have already had their opening night tickets for weeks, if you've just been enlisted into an unexpected journey to your local movie theatre, not to worry. We've put together a handy survival guide for the rest of you: it's everything a non-fan needs to know to prepare for December's most anticipated motion picture event.

Refresh your memory on the earlier movies:
"The Battle of the Five Armies" picks up right where "The Desolation of Smaug" left off -- with Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch, as a CGI dragon) bringing desolation to the poor people of Laketown. Meanwhile, Ian McKellen's Gandalf (or "that old wizard dude," if you prefer) is stuck in a cage somewhere, and basically everyone else is in a similarly bad place. And while Jackson includes a few helpful flashbacks here and there, there's no "Previously on 'The Hobbit' " to catch you up to speed. So you'll probably want to give yourself a quick refresher course, so you don't ruin your "Hobbit" fan friends' enjoyment by whispering things like "Wait, is that Kili or Fili?", "Why's this stupid mountain such a big deal anyway?", or "I thought Martin Freeman was supposed to have a Minnesota accent in this." (Pro tip: if you're pressed for time, at a scant 300 pages, it'll probably be quicker to just skim the entire "Hobbit" book than re-watch the last two movies.)

Go with a group:
Like storming the mountain, watching "The Battle of the Five Armies" gets a lot easier when you bring a couple friends along for reinforcement. Plus, that way there's somebody who can help fill you in on what you missed if you have to duck out to the bathroom. Make sure to get your own snacks though, because, just like Freeman's Bilbo discovers, things can get dicey when there's money involved, even among friends. And you don't want to have to go to war for your 14th share of the popcorn.

Bring along a Middle-earth-to-English dictionary:
Luckily, the Elvish comes with subtitles, but even so, you might find yourself needing a cheat sheet to follow along with the rest of the dialogue. Especially if you want to know where or what Gundabad is and why everyone keeps bringing it up. Or alternatively, you could choose to stay blissfully ignorant, zone out whenever the Arkenstone and its fellow Middle-earth MacGuffins are mentioned, and continue to wait patiently for that epic battle you were promised to finally start.

Pack tissues:
It's important to come adequately prepared -- if not for yourself, then for your friends. Because "The Battle of the Five Armies" officially closes the book on Peter Jackson's time in Middle-earth (at least until someone comes across a napkin Tolkien doodled on that they can turn into another three movies), which means audiences will be saying goodbye to a lot of fan-favourite characters. No spoilers here, but it's safe to say that a movie that builds up to a giant battle is going to feature at least a few casualties. Expect to hear some sniffling.

Remind yourself that the end is in sight:
At under two-and-a-half hours, "The Battle of the Five Armies" is the shortest of the three "Hobbit" movies by a good 15-20 minutes (or, roughly the runtime of one dwarf musical number). And while Jackson still takes his sweet time getting to the story's big, climatic battle sequence, there's more than enough action in the trilogy's final chapter to keep even the most fidgety moviegoer from checking their watch. But if you do ever find yourself silently praying for Jackson to wrap it up already, take a deep breath and remember that it's all over after this. And just like Bilbo, you will get to go home again. Unless your friends suggest going from that familiar final scene straight into a "Lord of the Rings" marathon. In which case, sorry, but we can't help you there.

"The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" opens in theatres on December 17.

7 Comedian-Starring Sitcoms You Probably Forgot About

There have been tons of TV shows headlined by stand-up comics over the years, but not all of them can be hits like "Seinfeld," "Ellen," "Martin," "Roseanne," or "Everybody Goes Raymond." For every stand-up sitcom success story, there are some short-lived programs that fell by the wayside. They aren't sitcoms, but two shows starring comedians air on FX tomorrow -- Louis C.K.'s beloved "Louie" heads into its fifth season and the Billy Crystal vehicle "The Comedians" makes its debut. Will the comedy legend's TV return stand the test of time? Even the most talented and popular comics couldn't make some of these shows last. Take a look at 7 comedian-starring sitcoms you (probably) forgot about.
